so hey, captain crunch's world, what would that world be like in 2023?

It could go several ways - in the US, surviving states such as California could become more muscular and form regional confederacies; authority could continue to recoalesce around either the seccorps or another wave of cliques' political projects.


I think the Soviet Union is likely going the same way as the US just 20 years behind - so they could see a breakup along SSR lines or Moscow's authority becoming more nominal as the population becomes more connected.


The rest of the world will likely see gradual recovery of state power as they discover how to tax and regulate the online grey economy. Potentially this is even when we see a belated tech boom as traditional companies muscle in on clique space (or cliques reform and get legit as big businesses).
